Because of the particular demographic this app focuses on, I selected a skeumorphic look and feel that communicated something of the world in which the Amish live.  The “Books” tab allows the author to add books and categories over time.

The natural look continues in the “Podcast” where the play/pause/scrub interface grows out of a cloth tile.
